Sports cable network ESPN had to report the sudden death of one of their own — as longtime personality John Saunders died suddenly at the age of 61 on August 10, 2016. Sanders had hosted the “Sports Reporters” show for 15 years, and had been with the network since 1986.
The cause of death has yet to be announced. He was married and had two daughters. Sources added that ESPN had recently been working on a special that looked back at their star’s long career.
The Canadian native was a popular Baltimore sportscaster when he was recruited to the popular cable network. ESPN President John Skipper said: “John was a beloved and devoted family man who cared deeply about people and causes, as evidenced by his long-standing efforts as a passionate board member for The V Foundation for Cancer Research.”
Sadly, ESPN had the exclusive on John’s death — with a clearly distraught Hannah Storm bravely reporting the heartbreaking news…
