Disgraced JOHN EDWARDS wants the sex tape he made with mistress RIELLE HUNTER despite a court order to destroy it!
As The ENQUIRER previously reported Hunter won her case against former Edwards loyalist ANDREW YOUNG over a sex tape she made with the two-time Presidential loser.
Despite an order to destroy the raunchy sex tape featuring the then married Edwards and his pregnant mistress, Edwards wants his copy.
In a request filed in US District Court in Greensboro, Edwards said he "intends to request, by subpoena or other procedure, certain materials covered" by provisions of the injunction.
Edwards asked the court to enforce an automatic stay "with respect to any transfer or destruction of items" until the request can be made.
The ENQUIRER reported earlier that he has now retained two lawyers who spearheaded Rielle’s sex tape legal victory to join his defense team in his federal criminal trial.
Beltway insiders suspect that Edwards plans to use the tape as part of his defense. It is believed the FBI also has a copy of the incriminating horizontal mambo which reputedly features Edwards giving oral sex to his pregnant mistress.
Edwards is accused of misusing Presidential campaign funds from two key donors 101 year old Listerine heiress Rachel ”Bunny” Mellon and late Dallas money man Fred Baron to fund the cover-up.
If convicted on all of the charges, Edwards faces up to 30 years in prison.
Jury selection in the bombshell trial of the century begins in April.
