Paul Newman’s widow Joanne Woodward ignited new health fears after she was a no-show at a recent benefit at the Westport Country Playhouse in Connecticut, which she and Paul supported for years.

Clea Newman, 49 – one of the couple’s three daughters – attended in her mother’s place, sources said.

“Everyone hoped she’d make an appearance,” a party guest told The National ENQUIRER, “but now she can’t even come out.”

Paul died from cancer in 2008 at age 83. They married in 1958.

Joanne, who is ravaged by Alzheimer’s disease, hasn’t been seen at events since early 2013.

Joanne – an Oscar winner for the 1957 film “The Three Faces of Eve” – is being cared for by daughter Lissy in her Westport home, The ENQUIRER has learned. Their daughter Nell, 55, lives in California.

Said a friend: “Joanne’s days, sadly, seem to be numbered. It’s only a matter of time before she joins her beloved Paul in heaven.”
