JESSICA DEVASTATED BY ‘BROTHER’S’ CRASH

description

Jessica Simpson is devastated over a deadly car crash involving “Prison Break” star Lane Garrison, who was taken in by her family when he was a troubled teen in Texas.

After hearing the news, the 26-year-old singer broke down crying and botched a singing performance at a tribute to Dolly Parton at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

With President Bush and First Lady Laura in the audience, witnesses say she abruptly ended the song “9 to 5” with the words “so nervous” and quickly exited the stage. Her breakdown was the subject of national headlines the next day but no one knew what caused it.

THE TRAGIC ACCIDENT OCCURRED
Shortly before midnight on Dec. 2, when Lane, also 26, lost control of his SUV in Beverly Hills. His vehicle jumped a curb and struck a tree, killing one of his three passengers – a 17-year-old boy. The two other occupants – both 15-year-old girls – were injured. One remains hospitalized in serious condition.

On Dec. 4, Beverly Hills police announced that alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident and that they were awaiting test results to determine whether Lane was drunk. A police spokesperson also said that alcohol containers were in the vehicle when it crashed. Lane, whose character “Tweener” was killed off in the Oct. 2 episode of the FOX-TV drama, suffered only minor injuries.
