JENNIFER HUDSON is finally moving forward with her life – straight to the altar.

Now that the coldblooded killer who destroyed her family has been convicted, Jennifer is planning a gala wedding to her attorney fiance David Otunga, say sources.

As THE ENQUIRER reported previously on  MAY 11, jurors convicted William Balfour on all seven counts he faced in the 2008 headline-making murders of Jennifer’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

A conviction on at least two counts of murder gets a life sentence without parole, according to Illinois law.

“Jennifer feels she can now close the door on that terrible chapter in her life and start again by planning a wedding – and that her late mother would approve,” revealed a family insider.

“She said she couldn’t have a celebration like a wedding until there was a conclusion to the murder trial, so she put it off. David was supportive and agreed with her completely.”

Now Jennifer, 30, and David, 32 – who have a 2-year-old son together – are planning a fall wedding in Chicago with all of her closest family and friends, revealed the insider.

“Jennifer and her mother were extremely close, and she is happy her mom met and approved of David before she died. But her heart is still broken that her mother never met her son, David Jr., who was born 10 months after the murders.

“Having the wedding in Chicago is important because that’s her home and that’s what her mom would’ve wanted. It’s a private tribute from Jennifer to her mother.”
