The life of Jennifer Hudson has become an unending nightmare!

The “Dreamgirls” star is reeling from the allegations that her half-brother Stephen Simpson, 45, went on a bloody rampage, stabbing the lover of his estranged wife.

He’s been charged with attempted murder.

“This will bring up horrible memories for Jennifer, who already lost several family members in a grisly murder,” a source told The NATIONAL ENQUIRER.

The horrifying attack took place at the Glen Apartments in South Haven, Mich., on Aug. 19 at 2:25 a.m., according to local police.

Officers found the 31-year-old victim stabbed multiple times in the hallway of one of the buildings in the complex. He was rushed to a local hospital and treated for his serious injuries.

In addition to attempted murder, Simpson was charged with home invasion.

The brutal crime took place at the apartment of Simpson’s estranged wife – while she was there.

Simpson stabbed her boyfriend several times, including in the face, before they ran for help, say cops.

For Jennifer, the assault comes on the heels of the 2008 murder of the star’s mother, brother and nephew by William Balfour, the estranged husband of Jennifer’s older sister Julia.

Prosecutors said Balfour killed the victims
because he was furious Julia was dating another man.

Jennifer’s mother Darnell Donerson and Jennifer’s sibling Jason were shot to death inside the family home in Chicago, while her missing seven-year-old nephew Julian King was later discovered – dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
