Once svelte Janet Jackson is digging her own grave with a knife and fork after packing on a staggering 80 pounds, a top doctor says!
After reviewing these stunning images obtained by The National ENQUIRER, the medical expert says the 55-year-old songbird has blown up like a balloon since October 2017 — and now carries 210 pounds on her 5-foot-4 frame!
“Janet’s seriously overweight and her binge eating has friends and family worried she has an eating disorder,” spills the insider. “She’s pounding down fattening foods like pasta and bread — and even worse — she’s stopped exercising and has no control over the size of the portions of her food!”
Sources say the pandemic and her shattered marriage to billionaire Wissam Al Mana triggered the weight gain, which could cripple Janet’s ability to perform her signature dance moves.
“Janet used to be obsessed with dieting and exercising, but she’s really slacked off,” spills an insider.
“Some of [her weight gain] is due to lockdown during the pandemic and the fact that she’s in her 50s and her metabolism has slowed down, but a lot of it is lingering stress over her divorce.”
The weight gain has impacted her ability to move around, according to insiders.
“She’s so heavy that walking is difficult and she’s in no shape to dance,” a source says. “She can’t dance like she used to and the weight gain has caused her to be breathless whenever she exerts herself.”
“People fear if she can’t breathe well enough she won’t be able to sing and perform.” As The ENQUIRER reported, Janet split with Wissam in April 2017, shortly after the birth of their baby boy, Eissa, and amid claims she was verbally abused and made to feel like a “prisoner in her own home.”
The divorce turned even nastier, with the singer once telling cops her ex was doing drugs around their son. Authorities later said they found no evidence of drug use.“It’s been difficult for Janet, especially when Eissa spends time with his father,” says the insider. “She worries so much, and when she’s stressed, she eats.”
Florida internist Dr. Gabe Mirkin estimates Janet has packed on 80 pounds and is now at risk for a variety of ailments. “This is a steady progression of weight gain,” he notes. “It increases her risk for diabetes, heart attack, osteoporosis and memory loss.”
