Janet Jackson is facing a life-and-death health crisis!
The National ENQUIRER has learned the “Control” singer — who recently announced she’s set to undergo surgery — has a tumor that could be cancerous!
“Doctors found a growth on Janet’s vocal cords that could be serious,” a source close to the 49-year-old superstar told The ENQUIRER.
“It’s a medical condition that has to be taken care of immediately.”
The Grammy-winning singer was expected to kick off the 2016 legs of her Unbreakable World Tour on Jan. 9.
Instead, Janet startled fans on Christmas Eve when she revealed she was postponing the tour due to surgery.
“Hey you guys … Happy Holidays to each and every one of you! I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon,” she posted online.
“It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring.
“Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time … There will be no further comment.”

Fans were even more terrified because it was the second time Janet has taken a medical break on this tour.
Concert dates were also put on hold in October so she could give her voice a rest.
But it wasn’t just “doctor’s orders” that derailed the tour, insiders said.
The controlling ways of her husband, Wissam Al Mana, also played a role.
“He told her to shut the tour down,” an insider spilled. “He said her first responsibility is to herself and him — and NOT to the disappointed fans!”
As The ENQUIRER reported, Wissam, 40, rules their marriage with an iron fist, starting with demanding a prenup when they wed in 2012.
“He controls the set and approves everything!” the source added.
That even meant cutting back on Janet’s signature sexy performances to fall in line with his strict Muslim beliefs.
“She was fully covered on stage when she started the tour, which was the only way Wissam would approve of her doing the shows,” revealed a second source.
“Janet’s dad, Joe, thought her fans would want more of the ‘real Janet,’” said the insider.
“But because of his culture, Wissam said absolutely not.”
For now, the late Michael Jackson’s little sis is putting on a brave face, said the source, adding: “Janet said she knows that with prayers and her will, she’ll be back out on the road in the spring or early summer.”
