Jan-Michael Vincent Battles Back: An Update On The Star’s Health

Jan-Michael Vincent has a triumphant message for his fans just one year after The National ENQUIRER exposed the “amputation horror” that nearly cost him his life.

“I’m doing really good!”

The 71-year-old former “Airwolf” star has miraculously rebounded from the devastating blow of losing most of his right leg to complications of peripheral artery disease.

His third wife, Anna, told The ENQUIRER: “Jan-Michael has bounced back, and he’s moving forward! “He’s working hard, and getting really good with a walker. He’s practically running with it. Our goal is for him to walk without a cane. It feels like there’s light at the end of the tunnel!”

As The ENQUIRER was first to report last October, the actor — ravaged by booze, drugs and violence — faced death when a medical crisis forced doctors to remove most of his right leg below the knee three years ago.

The surgery left him hooked up to life support and a ventilator.

But with Anna’s help, Jan-Michael learned to walk again with a prosthetic limb, although at times he was forced to use a wheelchair.

Jan-Michael continues to improve, and Anna gives credit to The ENQUIRER.

“The article put him back out there,” said Anna, who cares for the actor at their ranch home in Vicksburg, Miss.

Jan-Michael received letters from fans around the globe, Anna said, and she read them to him to boost his spirits.

“It’s been a long haul,” she added, “but we’re really in a good place!”
