Sarah’s daughter Bristol, 20, is competing on the hit show, and the controversial politician was fuming after Carrie Ann hinted that DWTS celebs and their pro-dance partners often hook up, The ENQUIRER has learned.
"Sarah is worried that if Bristol is caught up in a love scandal on the show, it might hurt her chances of running for the White House in 2012," confided a source close to the former Alaska governor.
"She doesn’t want to lose supporters due to Bristol’s behavior and she didn’t like the fact that Carrie Ann was stirring things up."
Palin was upset over Carrie Ann’s recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! , said the source.
When Kimmel said: "Many of the celebrities and their dance partners seem to sleep together, true?"
Carrie Ann bluntly replied: "You have a good eye."
While the DWTS judge didn’t mention any dancers by name, Sarah took her comment personally, according to the source.
"Sarah assumed Carrie Ann was referring to Bristol," the insider divulged.
Bristol’s affectionate behavior toward her handsome dance partner Mark Ballas has sparked rumors that they are hooking up.
Teen prego queen Bristol was photographed holding hands with Mark while heading to his performance at L.A.’s Mint Bar on Oct. 11.
"To Sarah, the photo will add fuel to the fire," added the source.
