Cher wallops record company, claiming they owe both her and Sonny Bono heirs $5 million!
Cher’s lawsuit filed in Santa Monica alleges that Universal Music Group owes Cher, Sonny’s widow and children royalties on songs compiled in a greatest hits compilation.
The legal papers filed also claims UMG also failed to provide bookkeeping accounts to show how much money is actually owed the claimants.
Sonny & Cher were married for nearly a decade during which they rolled out hit after hit and even starred in a weekly TV show before divorcing.
Their only daughter Chastity Bono is named as a claimant in the lawsuit and stands to receive royalties due if accorded judgment.
