HALLE BERRY’s former beau Gabriel Aubry is so desperate to win her back that friends fear he’ll kill himself if he’s frozen out of her life forever – and leave a suicide note blaming her for everything.

Gabriel’s heartbreak is the shocking reason behind a vicious, bloody Thanksgiving Day brawl between the spurned male model and Halle’s fiance Olivier Martinez, say sources.

“Gabriel’s crying all day and saying he can’t go on without Halle,” a close family friend told The ENQUIRER. “We’re really worried he’s going to do something drastic.”

By provoking the fight with Martinez, Aubry hoped he’d get hurt and the 46-year-old “Cloud Atlas” beauty would take pity and accept him back in her life, said the friend.

But the twisted plan backfired, with Halle seeking a restraining order to keep Aubry away from her and their 4-year-old daughter Nahla.

What’s more, the L.A. County’s Department of Child Protective Services is looking into possible abuse charges against him because Nahla was present during the fight.

Aubrey, a Canadian living in the U.S. on a work visa, could also lose contact with Nahla if he’s deported back to his native country, a possible penalty if abuse charges are proven.

Caught up in this new suicide drama, Halle’s life has been turned upside down. She desperately wanted to move with Nahla to France to be closer to her actor/fiance, but a judge ruled against the move in early November. Now Aubry is terrified the fierce fight could result in the judge reversing his decision.

“If Halle takes Nahla and moves out of the country, I’m afraid Gabriel may commit suicide – and leave behind a note blaming her for everything that has happened since they split,” said the source. “His friends have told Halle he’s going crazy.”

Halle is no stranger to suicide bids. She admitted in a 2007 interview she tried to kill herself by carbon monoxide poisoning over her failed first marriage to Atlanta Braves baseball star David Justice. She says the image of her mother finding her body snapped her out of it and she then swore off suicide.

But the unlucky-in-love Academy Award winner has little sympathy for the father of her child. She remains shocked and disgusted over her ex-lover’s violent Thanksgiving outburst.

Romance rivals Aubry, 37, and Martinez, 46, came to blows after Aubry dropped off his daughter to spend the holiday at Halle’s Hollywood Hills home. After Martinez told him: “We need to move on,” Aubry exploded. Right in front of his daughter, he threw a vicious punch at the Frenchman, missing his chin but hitting him on the shoulder.

Martinez returned fire, landing a blow squarely on Aubrey’s jaw, according to reports.

He then pinned Aubry to the ground until the police arrived, and both men ended up at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to be treated for injuries. A distraught Aubry was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery, posted a $20,000 bond and has a Dec. 13 court date.

“He realizes there is no turning back,” said the friend. “He finally sees how much Halle hates him, and he is on the verge of ending it all.

“Gabriel was sobbing at the hospital, saying it’s over and what’s the point of living anymore? And when the police released him, he went home and cried like a baby.

“His family is so concerned they are trying to make sure someone is with him or in close contact.”

Halle and Gabriel ended their four-year relationship in 2010 shortly after Nahla turned 2, and an ugly custody battle followed.

“Gabriel wants to be a part of Nahla’s life,” said the friend, “but all Halle wants is to get Nahla as far away from her father as possible.”
