Clark Kent‘s pal arrested by feds as part of drug conspiracy!

Federal agents arrested Sam Jones III who played Pete Ross on the adventures of young Superman series Smallville.

According to reports, cops say Jones star was part of a conspiracy rto deal more than "10,000 pills of Oxycodone".

Jones was taken into custody by DEA agents who claim he was a co-conspirator in a series of major Hollywood drug deals last year.

Documents in federal court say Jones was the "Hollywood connection" in a plot to buy and sell the drug that when snorted or smoked produces a euphoric high similar to heroin.

Co-defendant Thomas Michael Cataloni and Jones allegedly negotiated with a prospective oxycodone supplier and had arranged to meet with the supplier, according to the federal indictment. They then met the supplier, bought the drugs and then distribute them, authorities charge.

They were caught in a drug sting that went down June 2008 when an undercover agent posed as a supplier. Jones and Cataloni hooked up with the undercover fed at a Burbank coffee shop, negotiated a price and then purchased $75,000 worth of the "hillbilly heroin" in the parking lot of a nearby Glendale video store.

Jones has been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and is due to appear in federal court in Los Angeles later today.  If convicted, the one-time Smallville star faces up to 20 years behind bars.

There is no confirmation that Jones’ bust is connected to the arrest of the Big Brother winner Adam Jasinski who was busted by feds over the weekend on similar charges.

Jones was a series Smallville regular from 2001-2004 before returning for a guest shot.
