Sitcom sweetheart Valerie Bertinelli is looking fat and unhappy after packing on a whopping 35 pounds!
The “One Day at a Time” star, 55, famously dropped 49 pounds on the Jenny Craig program — slimming down from a pudgy 172 pounds to a trim 123 pounds.
“But now Valerie’s gaining weight, and she’s down in the dumps,” an insider told The National ENQUIRER.
The actress’ weight crept up when she began sampling recipes while writing her cookbook, “One Dish at a Time.”
Her weight woes mounted after she fractured her left foot in a bizarre home accident.
“Poor Valerie is back where she started,” said the insider.
Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey has stepped into the diet spotlight with her investment in Weight Watchers, sparking a feud with Hollywood’s fitness gurus, said another source.
“Celebrities such as Valerie and Suzanne Somers have to be gnashing their teeth over Oprah’s success!” the source told The ENQUIRER. “They all had similar ambitions to corner the weight loss and exercise market, but they’ve been left eating Oprah’s dust!”
The media mogul — infamous for her yo-yo dieting — bought into the company in mid-October after her best pal, Gayle King, announced she’d shed pounds on Weight Watchers.
Within days of Oprah’s $43 million investment, gleeful financial markets nearly doubled the price of the company’s stock, giving her a $72 million profit.
With Oprah in their corner, Weight Watchers will dominate the weight loss market, and overshadow the efforts of Suzanne, said the source.
Former “Three’s Company” cutie Suzanne pushes her own exercise gizmo, ThighMaster, and weight loss plan.
“Oprah’s now the queen of all diet plans!” declared the source. “The other celebs who have tried to achieve that status have to be absolutely livid!”
