FAMILY FEUD HOST RICHARD DAWSON DEAD

RICHARD DAWSON, who hosted long–running game show “Family Feud” and starred on “Hogan’s Heroes”, has died in California at 79.

The beloved Brit who also appeared in hundreds of films and TV show and was one of the POWs on the 1960s sitcom "Hogan's Heroes" and kissed thousands of women during his run on "Family Feud."

The show depicted family members against family members as they tried to guess the most popular answers to poll questions such as "What do people give up when they go on a diet?"

He would then reveal the correct responses with an enthusiastic, “Survey says!”

Dawson also appeared in film such as “The Devil’s Brigade” with Wm. Holden and Cliff Robertson, “King Rat” and as a spoof of his own game show persona in “The Running Man” with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

On Dawson’s last "Family Feud" taping in 1985, the studio audience honored Dawson with a standing ovation.

Dawson quipped, "Please sit down. I have to do at least 30 minutes of fun and laughter and you make me want to cry."
