EXCLUSIVE: STAR JONES’ GASTRIC BYPASS NIGHTMARE

She used to be a star on “The View” – but now Star Jones is facing a weight crisis, having packed on 80 pounds while dealing with career woes and a lonely home life!

The underemployed TV personality has tried to cover her growing bulge by stuffing her curves into staid suits and dresses, but exclusive pics by The National ENQUIRER caught Star looking dangerously overweight in a swimsuit.

The 52-year-old let it all hang out as she waltzed around Miami in a white one-piece with a drink in one hand and her matching pooch in the other – and her friends are concerned that Star is eating her way into the hospital!

The ENQUIRER previously revealed that the former co-host of the daytime talk show had secret gastric bypass surgery in 2003. Star shrunk from 307 pounds to a slender 140 pounds, while lying to loyal “View”-ers that she was shedding the weight through diet and exercise.

Now experts believe Star’s weight has broken the dreaded 200-pound barrier in just the past year. “She looks as if she weighs about 220 pounds,” said Dr. Sue Decotiis, who has not treated Star. “Surgery is only effective if the patient adheres to the lifestyle changes.”

“Surgery is not the cure for obesity,” said Dr. Caroline J. Cederquist, a health and wellness expert who has not treated Star.

She believes less than one-third of gastric bypass surgery patients keep the weight off.

“It is possible to keep all the lost weight off, but it requires significant diligence to diet, exercise and supplementation – as is required after all significant weight losses,” she said.
