ENQUIRER hush-hush CONFIDENTIAL

description

The ENQUIRER’s colorful history has become the subject of a blockbuster new book!

The just-published tell-all has been written by philanthropist and businessman Paul David Pope, whose father Generoso Pope Jr. created The National Enquirer nearly 60 years ago after purchasing the newspaper, the New York Enquirer.

The book is titled “The Deeds of My Fathers: How My Grandfather and Father Built New York and Created the Tabloid World of Today – Generoso Pope Sr., Power Broker of New York & Gene Pope Jr., Publisher of the National Enquirer.”

A labor of love for the 42-year-old third-generation Italian-American, Paul spent more than a decade researching the book and conducting over 500 interviews.

Nicholas Pileggi, bestselling author of “Wiseguy,” is calling the new book “The story of the century!”

And Joe Pistone, the real-life Donnie Brasco, says, “Arguably the most successful Italian-American family ever to arrive on our shores…Reading this gripping book, I marveled at their achievements…A true American saga.”

In a letter to the press heralding the arrival of the new book, the publisher noted that earlier this year The ENQUIRER “was touted for a Pulitzer Prize” for our series of scoops about the John Edwards’ affair and love child!

And the letter also pointed out how The ENQUIRER’s ongoing bombshell exclusives about celebrities and newsmakers drives “the news cycle!”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

Some of the celebs covered in the book are: Bob Hope, Oprah Winfrey, Raquel Welch, Tom Selleck, Shirley Jones, Grace Kelly, Ed Sullivan, Marlene Dietrich, Bing Crosby, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and, of course, Elvis Presley!
