ANOTHER famous Presley “has left the building” – LISA MARIE – and The ENQUIRER has discovered the real reason WHY.
Lisa Marie Presley stunned the music world by abruptly quitting her concert tour, and insiders say it’s because The King’s 46-year-old daughter finally realized she could never fill the “Blue Suede Shoes” of her late father.
Although Lisa Marie is publicly claiming that chronic back pain forced her to put her music career on hold, her decision was actually triggered by a combination of poor ticket sales and Elvis’ lingering legacy, say sources.
“Lisa has finally come to terms with the fact that she’ll never even come close to her father’s success,” revealed a source close to the Presley family.
“I think she canceled her tour early because she hated any negative comments and reviews and was embarrassed about not playing to packed venues. Her bad back issues were just an excuse.
“She tried to build her own fan base, but she finally broke down and admitted, ‘The audience comes to see Elvis’ daughter, not me.’ She said she was done chasing a silly dream and doesn’t feel like ever performing again.”
In early May, the aspiring rock star announced she was pulling the plug on the remainder of her “Storm & Grace” tour dates in the U.S. and Canada, citing a “doctor’s recommendation.”
Lisa Marie said she would make it up to her fans and play the dates she canceled sometime in 2015, but she has “no plans to get back on the road,” confided the source.
“She’s trying to save face. The reality is that she’s embarrassed by the poor turnout. She always said if she wasn’t a success by 42 – the age her father died – she would give it up.
“Well, she’s four years past that mark, and it appears Lisa Marie is hanging up her guitar for good.”
