Professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell, 19, flew from his Florida home to Australia, where he proposed on one knee — begging Bindi to elope when she turns 18 in July, The National ENQUIRER has learned.
“Chandler’s crazy about Bindi, and she feels the same way about him,” dished a source. “He asked Bindi to marry him. Bindi hugged and kissed him and said: ‘Yes! Yes! Yes!’”

The pair’s more in love than ever since her big “Dancing With the Stars” win last November — but overprotective mom Terri, the late Steve Irwin’s widow, keeps a tight leash on Bindi, who’s dated her American beau for almost a year.
“He bought a commitment ring, but Bindi’s too scared to wear it in case her mom goes nuts,” the source revealed.
The teen lovebirds were recently spotted walking on the beach near Bindi’s home in Queensland and “for once, Terri wasn’t hovering,” said a spywitness.

“She realizes her daughter’s growing up and needs her space. But she watches them like a hawk from a distance.”
Sources said it’s no wonder Chandler will do whatever it takes to make Australia’s sweetheart his blushing bride!
