His magical life on the big screen involved magic spells, broomsticks and battling with dragons — but “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe hid a real-life battle with booze!
“I have a very addictive personality,” he explained.
“I don’t want to go into details, but I drank a lot, and it was daily — I mean, nightly!”
He admitted to going into work on the later “Harry Potter” films still toasted from the night before.
And after the eight-film series wrapped in 2011, his problems continued.
“I was living alone, and I think I was really freaked out,” the 26-year-old actor said of going from Harry’s world back to the very non-magical real world.
Without his “Potter” castmates and crew “around me all the time,” he boozed it up. A lot.
Daniel said his drinking “was more to do with going out in public and having a battle within me of thinking, ‘No, I can have a totally normal life.’”
Fortunately, his life post-Potter managed to get more normal.
Daniel scored adult roles in 2012’s “The Woman in Black,” 2013’s “Horns,” and this year’s “Victor Frankenstein” — which was a box-office bomb, but even that couldn’t shake Daniel’s proud sobriety!
