Remorseful Ryan Seacrest has been kicking himself ever since he heard his “Dancing with the Stars” ex-girlfriend, Julianne Hough, is waltzing to the altar with hot and hunky hockey player Brooks Laich!
“Ryan is completely devastated,” an insider told The National ENQUIRER. “He’s been pining for Julianne since they split, telling friends she’s the one who got away.”
But the “American Idol” host is a day late and a dollar short with any plans for a reconciliation.
The blonde stunner announced on Aug. 18 that she and Canadian-born NHL athlete Brooks are engaged – and she couldn’t be happier!
“Julianne is gushing that Brooks is a dream come true,” said another source. “He’s a grounded family man who wants marriage and children, and isn’t a workaholic like Ryan!”
Ironically, that was the issue that blew their relationship apart.
After three years as one of Hollywood’s hottest couples, Ryan, 40, gave Julianne, 27, her walking papers, blaming work demands and Julianne for being too much of a “party girl.”
But nothing could be further from the truth, sources said.
“Ryan blamed the breakup on Julianne, but actually he wasn’t ready to settle down and she was,” explained the source.
Since the March 2013 split, Ryan’s been side-stepping from one tryst to the next. The list includes former Miss Teen USA Hilary Cruz and model Renée Hall.
“In between each girl, Ryan called Julianne, begging to reunite with her,” revealed the insider. “But Julianne, who’d been left heartbroken after being jilted, wasn’t interested. She had already moved on with her life and realized she was better off without him.”
Julianne met her dashing fiancé Brooks, 32, in February 2014 and since then, Ryan’s pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
“It’s too bad,” added the insider. “She would have had Ryan’s kids if he had put a ring on her finger.”
