Christina AGUILERA’s fiancé of one year, Matt Rutler, has given his Grammy-winning girlfriend a shocking ultimatum, sources have revealed to The National ENQUIRER.
“The one-year anniversary of their engagement came on Valentine’s Day,” said an insider. “But it was hardly romantic with Matt telling Christina that he’s going to walk unless they’re married by summer’s end!”
Christina, 34, met the former production assistant on the set of the movie “Burlesque” in 2010. Now friends say Matt’s “sick and tired of waiting for Christina to make the relationship official.”
The “What a Girl Wants” singer gave birth to their daughter, Summer Rain, in August. She also has a 7-year-old son, Max, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
When asked recently about heading to the altar, the “Beautiful” songbird – who’s currently working on her eighth studio album – answered: “Having just moved into a beautiful home, having a baby and being so excited to get back to work on ‘The Voice,’ I am not in a rush to set a date.”
The comment had Matt steaming, according to insiders.
“Matt was totally insulted by Christina’s public comments on matrimony,” divulged a source.
“He wants a commitment now that they have a daughter. But she says she’s too busy with ‘The Voice,’ recording a new album and producing a new series.”
As The ENQUIRER reported, Christina has put a renewed focus on her image and career, and dropped 40 pounds last year to prove it. But insiders believe Matt thinks he has dropped out of that focus.
“Matt wants the security of marriage, even if that means signing a prenup,” said an insider. “They can’t stop fighting over when – or if – they’ll ever get hitched.”
