NO more zoom-zoom for “American Hustle” star Christian Bale! He’s giving up racing motorcycles to keep his wife happy, said a source.
The 39-year-old Oscar winner relaxes by letting off steam on the racetrack. But after the tragic death of “Fast & Furious” star Paul Walker, Bale’s wife of 13 years, Sibi, demanded that he quit, according to the source.
“Sibi has always had a problem with Christian’s love of fast bikes,” a longtime family friend told The ENQUIRER. “She stopped him from riding them in the streets shortly after the birth of (their daughter) Emmaline eight years ago. Since then, Christian has limited his riding to the race track under very controlled conditions.”
The “Batman Begins” actor even cut back his motorcycle stunt work in the 2012 superhero film “The Dark Knight Rises” after doing a lot of it in 2008’s “The Dark Knight,” said the source.
But after the hunk injured his arm in a December 2012 bike accident – and Walker died in a fiery Nov. 30 car crash – Sibi apparently became even more paranoid.
“Since Paul’s death, she’s totally freaked out,” the source noted. “Sibi doesn’t want Christian racing at all, and that’s going to be a real struggle for him. Christian is obsessed with racing foreign bikes, but he adores Sibi and hates seeing her so worked up over what happened to Paul.
“As tough as it is for him, Christian is going to quit racing for her. She rules their household with an iron fist, and his attitude is, she’s the boss.”
