Stars like Drew Barrymore, Kelly Osbourne and Emmy Rossum took to the streets of West Hollywood on Tuesday to rally against the California Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Proposition 8, the constitutional amendment that bans same-sex marriage.
But they aren’t the only stars expressing anger over the ban. Ellen DeGeneres, who married Portia De Rossi last August, wrote on her Twitter, "One day when everyone is treated with full equality, we’ll look back and realize how wrong this was."
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian blogged, "This really makes me sad. I thought we were more forward thinking than this, and I’m disappointed in the Supreme Court for being so closed minded. Everyone… gay, straight, bisexual, transgendered, EVERYONE should have equal rights to marry who they want to."
George Takei — who married his longtime love, Brad Altman, last September — added, "It seems that the California Supreme Court justices decided to be indecisive. Our marriage is intact, but this issue is not settled. Inequality is still the rule of the land."
