CAROLINE KENNEDY may be headed to Japan as US Ambassador as an OBAMA payback.

Reportedly, Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of JFK is a hot contender to be named President Barack Obama’ nominee as U.S. ambassador to Japan.

It is said to be payback for the Hyannis Port clan – especially Caroline and her late uncle Sen.Ted Kennedy – for betraying Hillary Clinton during the 2008 presidential campaign by throwing their hefty clout in support of the then-barely known Obama.

If passed by Congress, Caroline, 55, would then assume the duties of outgoing Ambassador John Roos, a former technology lawyer and big Obama campaign donor, as  U.S. envoy in Tokyo, multiple reports says.

While the Obama hasn’t yet signed off on Kennedy’s nom, her vetting for the post has yet to be completed, a source told the news net.

As a Kennedy, that vetting will go deep – regardless.

And if Caroline is nominated, expect yet another battle royal in D.C. to confirm her appointment.
