But there's at least one person who’s happy about the sudden change of direction in Taylor Swift’s love life – her mom!
Just weeks after telling ex-beau Conor Kennedy that she needed to be single to focus on her new album, “Red,” the country princess has already found another young lover – British boy-bander Harry Styles of One Direction. And Taylor’s mother, Andrea, has given the pair her stamp of approval.
“Taylor convinced her mom that Harry was different,” said a source. “Even though he’s young, she says he understands the business better than anyone she’s dated in the past.”
Those past boyfriends include musicians John Mayer and Joe Jonas, actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Lautner, and most recently, Conor – the 18-year-old son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Taylor, 22, and the teen began dating over the summer, while Conor was still mourning the death of his mother Mary, who committed suicide in May. But by early November, the blonde beauty kicked Conor to the curb and, say sources, took a line from her latest chart-topper – “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
Then, on Nov. 15, Taylor was spotted holding hands and joking with her new 18-year-old boy toy, Harry, during rehearsals for her performance on FOX’s “X Factor.”
“While Andrea told Taylor not to rush into anything, Taylor just couldn’t help falling for Harry’s charm and his British accent,” the source noted. “Andrea had to admit that Taylor and Harry made an adorable couple, and she’s keeping her fingers crossed that this romance lasts longer than the others.”
One Direction has been an international sensation, drawing the biggest crowd ever for a recent “Today” show concert, and they’ve reportedly grossed nearly $200 million since forming in 2010.
Meanwhile, the Kennedys are furious with the serial-dating country vixen.
“Taylor is leaving a trail of broken hearts, and her latest and most vulnerable victim by far is Conor,” the source added. “The Kennedy family really thought Taylor was with Conor for the right reasons, but now it’s clear that it was all just for publicity.
“Conor’s shattered. It’s especially brutal since he and Taylor were fans of One Direction. Little did he know that one of the members would be his replacement.”
