Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrel who shared a kiss in their last flick together are shacking up — at 221B Baker Street.

Cohen and Ferrel are hoping to play fiction’s two most famous roommates – detective Sherlock Holmes and his aide Dr. Watson.

Using the stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s famed sleuth for inspiration, the screenplay is being penned under the auspices of producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up).

Cohen, who was educated at Oxford, has made a career of playing funny-voiced characters — while his comedic cohort has delighted in playing the utter fool.

“Just the idea of Sacha and Will as Sherlock Holmes and Watson makes us laugh,” Columbia Pictures co-prez Matt Tolmach stated.

No word as to whether the film will be played straight or delve into the gayer aspects of Holmes/Watson dynamic as first seen in director Billy Wilder‘s The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes.

But there were already concerns that the project could be held up as director Guy Ritchie began helming his own Holmes franchise starring Robert Downey Jr.
