FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. may be the boxing champion of the world, but that hasn’t stopped his fellow inmates at Nevada’s Clark County Detention Center from throwing a few jabs at him!

The superstar fighter has been taking some verbal hits for his close friendship with teen pop star Justin Bieber. Other prisoners are teasing the 35-year-old boxer – who’s currently serving 87 days for a domestic assault conviction – because he let the “Baby” singer carry his championship belts into the ring for his last fight.

But the cons have been careful not to let the sparring get out of hand because they’re hoping Floyd will talk another one of his pals, rapper 50 Cent, into playing a show at the lock-up.

“Since Floyd arrived IN prison, he’s been the butt of all the inmates’ jokes because he’s friends with a teeny-bopper like Justin,” a source told The ENQUIRER. “They can’t believe a tough guy like Floyd would let a little kid carry his championship belts into the ring before a big fight.

“They think he should have let 50 Cent carry them for good luck, and they want Floyd to talk to Fiddy about putting on a small concert for them.”

Floyd was sentenced to prison in December 2011 for striking ex-girlfriend and baby mama Josie Harris in the head in September 2010. His term was initially delayed so he could compete in a bout, but on June 1 he was handed his standard-issue prison garb.

As for the taunting, the source says Floyd is “taking it on the chin.”

“He’s told them that Justin’s a great kid – and a lot tougher than he looks.”
