Anna Nicole Smith’s mother is on her deathbed — eight years after her daughter’s tragic overdose, The National ENQUIRER has learned!
Anna Nicole’s mom, Virgie Arthur, 64, has been battling a rare form of cancer and was recently admitted to a Texas hospital a few weeks ago, sources told The ENQUIRER. What’s worse, she’s not allowed to see her granddaughter!
“Doctors don’t know how much longer she has to live,” said a close source.
Virgie’s been in declining health since she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer that affects bone marrow.
Her spirits also fell when she lost a legal bid for custody of her granddaughter Dannielynn Birkhead, 9, after Anna Nicole’s mysterious 2007 death, the source said.
Virgie has been only able to see Dannielynn grow up with the help of photographs sent to her by the child’s father, Larry Birkhead.
On Dec. 8, brave Virgie told The ENQUIRER from her hospital bed: “I can’t plan a day for nothing because I don’t know if I’ll be around. It’s very hard during the holidays because Anna’s not here. But I do believe in my heart that she’s watching down on me.”
