CNN’s “silver fox” ANDERSON COOPER set to wed longtime BF in a star-studded Labor Day knot tying, say pals.

NOW that he’s out of the closet, newshound Anderson Cooper is headed down the aisle! The 45-year-old CNN anchor plans to wed hunky club owner Ben Maisani in the Big Apple, pals say, and the nuptials could take place as soon as Labor Day!

Cooper announced his not-so-secret sexuality recently, saying: “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud.”

A source close to Coop – who also hosts the syndicated daytime talk show “Anderson” – told The ENQUIRER: “Anderson finally decided the time was right for him to come out.

“He’d been considering breaking the news ever since same-sex marriage became legal in the state of New York last summer. It’s been about a year now and he wants to get married to Ben. They’re totally committed to one another.”

As The ENQUIRER reported in June 2011, the pair got a push toward the altar from Anderson’s famous mom, 88-year-old fashion designer Gloria Vanderbilt, amid quarrels over their demanding work schedules.

Cooper – who was attacked by a mob while reporting in Egypt last year – said he could cut back on road trips, according to the source. Meanwhile, 39-year-old Ben offered to ease up on his late-night hours at his gay bar, Eastern Bloc.

Gloria, already a grandmother of three, had also been pushing hard for her son and Ben to adopt a child.

“At her age, Gloria is desperate to see her son settle down and make a family,” the source said.

“So she got right in the middle of things and reminded (Anderson and Ben) how lucky they are to have found love and to stop being so demanding.”
