“Enchanted beauty” AMY ADAMS inks deal to star as America’s most famous girl reporter, Lois Lane, to HENRY CAVILLl’s SUPERMAN in new reboot.

“Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about,” director ZACK SNYDER said.

“So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful.”

Already cast are Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as The Man of Steel’s adoptive earth parents, The Kents.

Adams joins Joan Alexander, Noel Neill, Phyllis Coates, Margot Kidder, Teri Hatcher, Kate Bosworth and Erica Durance as other thesps who’ve embodied the Fourth Estate icon on film and TV.

Superman: Man of Steel is slated for a December 2012 release from Warner Bros.
