Andy Cohen Makes His Move As Kelly Clarkson Contemplates Daytime Talk Show Exit
Andy Cohen’s ambition and sharp elbows are on full display as Kelly Clarkson wavers about her talk show future — even though sources say Hoda Kotb has already got the gig if she wants it.
Insiders say that while Andy has been filling in for Kelly, he’s treating every moment like a calculated audition and is dead serious about taking over the timeslot if Kelly steps away.
“Andy sees this as his big chance,” a top NBC source reveals. “He’s smart enough to know that daytime real estate like Kelly’s show doesn’t open up often.”
Kelly’s contract is set to expire next year, and — as we told you first — she’s seriously considering stepping back.
“She’s exhausted,” the insider shares. “Daytime TV is a grind. Kelly loves it, but she’s not sure she wants to keep doing it forever.”
