Burt Reynolds is making the rounds of talk shows while plugging his new tell-all "But Enough About Me"—and he's shocking audiences with his frail appearance! Longtime fans were saddened to see Burt struggling to make his way in and out of the studio for an appearance on "Live! with Kelly and Michael," while the studio audience awkwardly waited through Burt's long stroll to the couch after his introduction.
"Burt has terrible problems with his back," an insider told The ENQUIRER, "but he's insisting that he's okay once he's sitting down. Burt's at an age where he loves meeting fans, and he thinks of this book tour as one of his last hurrahs!"
Burt still looked just as frail when making his second big television appearance of the day for "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." The source told The ENQUIRER that his handlers are careful to give Burt plenty of time to rest up during the day—but the once-robust star still needed assistance to get inside the Times Square studio!
Burt's voice also sounded considerably more tired when he sat down with Stephen Colbert for the late-afternoon taping. He seems determined to keep promoting his new book, but insiders worry that Burt is also convincing his fans that he's heading into his final days. "It's tough to watch," agreed the pal, "but some of us think Burt likes the challenge!"
