CAPTAIN LOU ALBANO DEAD

description

Wrestling legend Cyndi Lauper co-star Captain Lou Albano dead at 76.

According to the Miami Herald the Captain was placed in a hospice by his family on Monday.  He did not have cancer, the Herald said.

Albano began his career as grappler but found his true calling as nasty manager who handled the Wild Samoans and Masked Executioners.

Lou retired in 1995 and was promptly inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Lou was also featured in several Cyndi Lauper music videos "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"’ "She Bop" and ‘Time After Time’ often appearing as her father.

Their unlikely partnership helped launch  Rock’n’Wrestling which transformed the then small time WWF into  prominence on the national landscape.

Lou also acted in many low budget actioners and TV shows including The Mario Brtothers and Miami Vice.

“Often imitated, never duplicated,” was Lou’s oft-repeated self-assessment.
