Millionaire Congressional candidate Greg Gianforte was arrested after attacking a UK reporter — with the brutal encounter caught on audiotape!
The shocking video above has the sounds of Gianforte — a tech entrepreneur who once ran for governor — putting his campaign in danger just one day before the special election on May 25 for a Congressional seat in Montana.
Ben Jacobs, who is covering the campaign for the UK newspaper The Guardian, can be heard on the tape attempting to ask Gianforte a question — and then there’s mayhem as the candidate shouts: “Get the hell out of here!”
Jacobs later reported in his paper: “He took me to the ground. This is the strangest thing that has ever happened to me in reporting on politics.”
Two local newspapers have already rushed to revoke their endorsements of Gianforte — who was later booked on charges of assault, and has a court date coming up in June.
County Sheriff Brian Gootkin added that Jacobs’ injuries didn’t meet the requirements for charges of felony assault.
