IN a bombshell world exclusive, some of the former friends of “Craigslist Killer” MIRANDA BARBOUR told The ENQUIRER that she confessed to killing a man in a shocking 2 a.m. heart-to-heart with them!
While the fiendish 19-year-old had denied the slaying during a grilling with police, the former friends say hours later Miranda admitted stabbing married environmental engineer Troy LaFerrara to death – but claimed it was self-defense.
Horrified at her confession and terrified that they’d be her next victims, the friends drove Miranda and her husband, Elytte, straight to a nearby police station.
“We didn’t want to be charged as accessories to murder,” one of the sources told The ENQUIRER. “After Miranda confessed, we told her that if she didn’t turn herself in, we would.”
In the chilling jailhouse interviews that followed, Miranda boasted that she’d slaughtered at least 22 people as a devoted follower of Satan.
While police now doubt her spine-tingling claims, they believe the teen mom of a baby girl killed LaFerrara, 42, on Nov. 11, 2013. Police suspect she lured him to a mall in Sunbury, Pa., after they connected through an ad offering “companionship” on the Internet site Craigslist.
And in the early morning hours of Dec. 3, Miranda described LaFerrara’s thrill-killing to her stunned friends in Selinsgrove, Pa.
“Miranda said LaFerrara put his hands around her neck while they were sitting in her car at the mall,” the second source disclosed.
“She said that she asked him to stop, but he wouldn’t. So she grabbed a knife from the side pocket of the car door and attacked him.
“She said, ‘I stabbed the guy. I blacked out. I don’t know what happened. It was self-defense. He had his hands around my neck!’ She said Elytte helped her clean the blood off the car later.”
Chillingly, Miranda seemed to have no remorse.
“Her voice was normal,” recalled the second source. “She wasn’t crying and she wasn’t shaken. It was spooky!
“I knew she’d been talking to the police but hadn’t admitted to the murder. Until she confessed, I honestly thought she was innocent.”
According to the source, Miranda told her story and then acted like she was ready for bed. “We told her no way – she was going with us to the police.”
But it was an uneasy ride as the sources took Miranda and Elytte to the nearby state police barracks.
“I knew that they kept the knife that Miranda used to murder that guy under their bed,” noted the first source, “and I was terrified that they’d kill us on the way.”
The second source adds that cops confiscated from Miranda’s house a copy of Anton LaVey’s “Satanic Bible,” which is a handbook for contemporary devil-worshipping.
Both Miranda and Elytte have been charged in LaFerrara’s murder and face the death penalty. They have pleaded not guilty to the brutal crime.
“Knowing what I know now, I realize that we all could have been murdered,” said the first source. “They scared the hell out of me. I wish we’d never met them.”
