Last respects turned to no respect at a Tulsa Funeral Home!
Shayanna Sims showed up to a deceased woman’s viewing in 2015 at the Moore Funeral Home — but not as a grieving friend.
Witnesses said they saw Sims reach into the coffin — and desecrate the body laying inside!
When she was done, the dead woman’s face was slashed and her makeup smeared — with parts of her hair thrown onto the floor next to her casket!
“You just don’t do this to a body,” said Tulsa Assistant District Attorney Tanya Wilson. “The family were already mourning the loss of their loved one so very unexpectedly.”
Sims also removed both breasts and a toe from the woman, who was believed to be the ex-girlfriend of her boyfriend.
From the funeral home, Sims headed to the woman’s apartment — gaining unlawful entry by telling those who were there that she was sent from the funeral home!
She was arrested by local police at the residence as she tried to steal a pair of shoes once belonging to the deceased.
She was also carrying the knife she used to mutilate the body — with strands of the late woman’s hair still stuck to it!
Sims pleaded not guilty, but was ultimately convicted of “unlawful removal of a body part from a deceased person”, “disturbing a funeral”, “unauthorized dissection”, “possession of stolen property” and “first-degree burglary.”
She is currently being held without bond.
