A 3-year-old girl went missing in Texas under suspicious circumstances — with the father now admitting to doing laundry at 3 a.m. before calling police!
Sherin Mathews was reportedly last seen in the early morning hours in the affluent Dallas suburb of Peterson.
Her father, Wesley Mathews, told police that he had put her outside at 3 a.m. as punishment for not finishing a glass of milk.
He claimed that Sherin was missing when he checked back on her 15 minutes later, and added that he had seen coyotes earlier in the alley where his daughter had been standing.
And in a disturbing twist, Mathews has told police that he didn’t call authorities for another hour in hopes that Sherin would return — and spent that time washing laundry!
“There’s definitely some holes in [Mathews’s] story,” said Shanna Potee in an interview with the Washington Post.
“Coyotes don’t attack people. I’ve come in contact with a coyote, and they don’t really bother you.”
