A week after THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER reported  that police were investigating her BF’s suicide as a possible homicide MINDY MCCREADY is on the hot seat in a searing new interview.

The troubled country singer who remains in mourning after the loss the loss of her "soul mate" and the father of her infant son, David Wilson who was discovered dead of what was initially reported as a “self-inflicted” gunshot wound has NOW broken her silence.

Yet, The ENQUIRER previously reported  — that while no one is alleging that McCready has anything to do with death and she is not a suspect, Cleburne County Sherriff Marty Moss confirmed to the ENQUIRER: “This is a very high-profile case and we need to make sure it’s investigated thoroughly as possible. It could take weeks for the state crime lab to complete their tests on Mr. Wilson’s body, and if you’ll notice, it was Mindy McCready’s spokesperson – not anyone involved in the investigation – who made the determination that Mr. Wilson’s death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

The Today Show leaked highlights of an intense interview with McCready, slated to air on NBC’s Dateline, reporter Andrea Canning asked McCready asked point-blank if she shot Wilson.

"Oh my god, no. Oh my god, no," McCready responded.

"He was my life. We were each other's life. There's no way to tell where one of us began and the other ended. We slept together every night holding hands."

But when pressed if she believed "100 percent" that Wilson killed himself or whether he might have been murdered, the singer reportedly fell silent and then said, "I don't know…

"I don't understand why he would leave us."
