Exonerated murder mom CASEY ANTHONY in holding pattern while judge pushes back ruling.

In the defamation lawsuit against Anthony, a Florida judge will rule on whether or not the defamation case can go forward – sometime in the next two months.

Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez charged in the lawsuit that her reputation was damaged by Anthony telling investigators that a baby sitter with THAT very name had kidnapped Anthony's 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008.

Caylee was later found dead and Anthony acquitted of murder in July 2011.

Gonzalez’s lawyers also filed a motion seeking a judgment in favor for damages, saying that submitted more than enough evidence to show Gonzalez was defamed by Anthony.

Judge Lisa Munyon decided against immediately ruling on the motions and said during the hearing she would issue a written ruling.

Fernandez-Gonzalez has never met Anthony.

Cops investigating the murder case believe Anthony may have seen the name on an apartment rental application but there was never proof.

Anthony's lawyers have asked to have the lawsuit thrown out.
