HEE HAW KILLER PAROLED

Stringbean_stry

The burglar who murdered “Hee Haw” banjo player David “Stringbean” Akeman and his wife has been granted parole.

John A. Brown and his cousin, Doug Brown, were convicted of murder after bush-whacking Stringbean and his wife Estelle at their cabin Nov. 10, 1973.

The murderous cousins shot and killed “Stringbean” when he walked in the door coming home from the  Grand Old Opry.

As Estelle tried to escape through the front yard, Brown blew her brains out.

After serving 40 years behind bars, the Tennessee Board of Parole approved John A. Brown’s release.

He had gone before the board five times prior.

His cousin died behind bars in 2003.
