THE relative of a child rape victim is slamming the lawyer son of TV’s JUDGE JUDY for possibly protecting the suspect!

The star’s son, Putnam County, N.Y., District Attorney Adam Levy, employed Romanian bodybuilder Alexandru Hossu as his live-in personal trainer – and on March 20, Hossu was arrested for “forcibly and violently” raping a 12-year-old girl on Oct. 24, 2010.

“What Hossu did to my niece is beyond belief,” the girl’s aunt, whom we’re not naming to protect the alleged victim, told The ENQUIRER in an emotional interview. “But equally disturbing is what D.A. Levy’s role was in all this. What must his mom, Judge Judy, think about her son letting this creep into his life – even allowing him to bunk in his home.

“Judge Judy must have read him the riot act big-time. I can only imagine that she must be beside herself with rage.”

The aunt believes Levy may also be facing trouble.

“If he (Levy) had any whiff of what this man did, he should also be held fully accountable,” she declared. “They should be shown no mercy – neither one!”

And she’s not the only one who thinks Levy may have been protecting his pal. Putnam County Sheriff Donald Smith has accused Levy of using his position to interfere with the disturbing case. What’s more, the sheriff has requested a federal investigation into charges that Levy may have “harbored, shielded, aided or abetted” Hossu, 35. Levy claims the sheriff made “unfounded allegations,” accused him of grandstanding and insists: “My office acted properly in every aspect of the investigation.”

Hossu is accused of raping the daughter of his former girlfriend twice in a three-hour span. Despite the fact that his visa expired 12 years ago, Hossu worked as Levy’s personal trainer and lived at his multimillion-dollar home in Brewster, N.Y., until six months ago. He’s also currently dating Levy’s live-in nanny. Levy says he did not know of Hossu’s immigration status until his arrest.

Meanwhile, the victim is now 15. Her mother was found dead near a Danbury, Conn., shopping complex in July 2012, and the teen is now living with relatives. The alleged rapes went unreported for more than two years, when the girl finally confided to a school counselor, who alerted authorities.

“Judge Judy’s family has been dragged into this unholy mess, and it’s cast a dark shadow over everyone,” said an insider.

Levy says he recused his office from handling the prosecution of the case, and Hossu is being held without bail in a Putnam County jail.

Judge Judy said in a statement: “The sole focus of this story should be the investigation as to whether a young girl was the victim of a very serious crime. Shifting that focus to celebrity does the justice system a grave disservice.”

The insider added: “Judge Judy isn’t showing any emotion, even to friends, over this case and the public complaints about her son. She is dead-set against anything that blurs the brutal facts of the crime and she seeks justice.”
