For nine terrifying months, young Abby Hernandez was held hostage in a shipping container behind her captor’s trailer home in rural New Hampshire – and now in a worldwide exclusive The National ENQUIRER takes you behind the scenes into the bone-chilling chamber of horrors.

On October 9, 2013, the youngster was nabbed walking home from school, an innocent 14-year-old enjoying a crisp fall day. Midway through this year’s summer break, after missing her 9th grade year and celebrating her 15th birthday in captivity, she walked back into her mother’s home in late July.

Before her incredible ordeal ended, officials say she was imprisoned in a rust-colored tank described as a soundproof “above-ground bunker,” 30 miles north of her hometown of Conway, N.H.

The “prison” is said to be separated into three rooms, and “No Trespassing” and “Beware of the Dog” signs are plastered on the outside. It is believed she was kept there even during winter.

Amazingly, Abby provided so many details of her captivity to law enforcement officials that it helped lead to the arrest of 34-year-old sicko Nate Kibby, who has a history of violence against women.

The steel-willed teen was able to stare down Kibby during a brief court hearing where he was charged with felony kidnapping. He is being held on $1 million bail and faces seven years in prison if convicted.

“We are taking a hard look at this guy,” a law enforcement source told The ENQUIRER. “There will be more charges in connection with this case and maybe other cases as well.”

In 1998, Kibby was found guilty of assaulting a 16-year-old girl. The ENQUIRER has also learned Kibby was in court twice during the nine months he’s accused
