Dallas police have charged that a woman was too distracted with Facebook after a 3-year-old girl she was watching drowned in a pool.
Dallas County jail records reveal Kariasa Thomas, 37, is being held on a charge of reckless injury to a child.
Law enforcement officials said the child Kanyce Giddings couldn't swim and drowned on June 22.
Police say Thomas was watching a friend's four children, including Kanyce, at an apartment complex pool that supposed to be closed for the evening.
Thomas told police she used her phone to log on to Facebook for about 15 minutes, according to an affidavit, and also played with her dog.
The victim's body was found dead in the pool.
Thomas was immediately booked with bond set at $25,000.
