While convicted Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev faces possible execution, The National ENQUIRER has exclusively learned prison inmates have already targeted him for death!

The 21-year-old terrorist has been convicted of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, which killed three and injured 260, including 17 who lost limbs in the explosions.

“Regardless of whether he’s sent to die by lethal injection or is sentenced to life in prison without parole, he’s a goner!” a law enforcement source told The ENQUIRER.

“The cowardly kid already has a price on his head. There are plenty of prisoners who’d consider it a badge of honor to take him out – doesn’t matter if he’s in solitary confinement or not.”

A second source said: “Expect him to die at an inmate’s hands. There’s already buzz that they want to take him out in the shower – gut him with a shiv or break his neck! He could also be killed by spiking his food with rat poison.”

Over the years, other infamous killers have been “offed” in prison, including “Boston Strangler” Albert DeSalvo and “cannibal killer” Jeffrey Dahmer.

Court watchers said Tsarnaev showed no emotion on April 8, when he was pronounced guilty on all 30 counts, including conspiracy and deadly use of a weapon of mass destruction. Seventeen of those counts are punishable by death.

In a tirade sent to a website, his mother, Zubeidat, bashed Americans and promised that the U.S. “will pay” for convicting her “innocent” son and killing his older brother, Tamerlan.

According to a new book titled “The Brothers: The Road to an American Tragedy,” Tamerlan was once recruited by the FBI as an informant. Author Masha Gessen claimed that before the bombings, Tamerlan went rogue and was involved in the drug-related murders of three friends. After the bombings, she added, the FBI delayed telling Boston authorities about Tamerlan because the agency wanted to find him first and kill him.
