JOHN TRAVOLTA CUTS DEAL WITH JETT DEATH BLACKMAILERS

description

JOHN TRAVOLTA is asking prosecutors to drop the charges in a $25 million blackmail plot against him, The ENQUIRER has learned – because he fears the devastating toll a new trial could take on wife Kelly‘s miracle pregnancy.

The retrial of two Bahamians accused of extorting him over the tragic death of their autistic son Jett was set to begin Sept. 6 – with Kelly, 47, just two months away from her due date.

"John desperately wants to avoid any risks to Kelly’s delicate pregnancy," an insider told The ENQUIRER. "He just wants this nightmare to end."

Jett was 16 when he died in January 2009 after suffering a seizure at the family’s Bahamian vacation home.

Ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne, who drove Jett to the hospital, and lawyer and former Sen.Pleasant Bridgewater were charged with blackmail after they allegedly threatened to "expose" Travolta over a routine transport release document he signed.

They claimed it meant that he was responsible for Jett’s death.

Their month-long trial ended in a mistrial last year. They were preparing for the retrial when Travolta’s attorney flew to Freeport on Aug. 16 and met with Lightbourne and Bridgewater and their lawyers, said the source.
