TONY CURTIS: SWEET SMELL OF EXCESS

description

"If you’ve got a part in a picture, I’m available!"

That’s the message that Hollywood legend Tony Curtis has for movie producers – on the eve of his 85th birthday!

"I’m looking for some kind of acting job I can do," Curtis told The ENQUIRER in an exclusive interview.

"I’m in excellent shape, and my spirits are high. They’d be getting a miracle!"

Tony isn’t exaggerating  — just three years ago his sixth wife Jill kept vigil at his bedside as he clung to life on a ventilator.

A bout of pneumonia had left him in a coma – and Curtis says he was brought back from the dead only by 40-year-old Jill’s refusal to let him die.

"I have a dear wife, and I’m the luckiest of men," Curtis told The ENQUIRER.

The couple married in 1998, and live on a ranch in Henderson, Nev. But even if Hollywood doesn’t call, Curtis – who will blow out 85 candles on June 3 – will keep plenty busy.

His paintings sell for more than $25,000 a canvas, and he boasts that he’s an "excellent carpenter," even though he doesn’t get around quite as nimbly as he did in his younger days.

The always-active star of The Defiant Ones says he’s getting ready to start writing his fourth book.

"It’s a murder mystery that starts out in one of the Hollywood studios," he said.

"It’s a world I know something about."
