Talk is cheap, but it may prove to be VERY pricey for Star Jones if her ex-hubby has his way!
Al Reynolds, who has been divorced from Star for three years, filed a lawsuit against his former wife, claiming she violated the terms of their divorce by referring to their four-year marriage as “booty” on “The Wendy Williams Show.”
Now he’s demanding the49-year-old legal pundit fork over $50,000 for the verbal faux pas.
On the March 25 edition of Wendy’s talk show, Star said that although her 2004 wedding to Al was “fabulous,” the actual marriage was “kind of booty.”
A clause in the couple’s 2008 divorce agreement forbids them to say anything derogatory about each other or face a financial penalty.
So seven days after Star’s appearance on the show, Al’s attorney fired off a letter to his ex, demanding the five-figure payment for her “booty” remark.
The lawsuit was filed in May in a Miami- Dade County (Fla.) court, but it took Al until recently to locate Star and serve her with the papers.
But Star thinks the situation is a “laughable” ploy for attention, according to another insider, who added: “She says that Al is just trying to get more publicity for himself, at her expense.”
