SOMERS STEM CELL FACE-LIFT

Anti-aging queen Suzanne Somers is getting a face-lift – but with  bizarre new procedure  utilizing stem cells, The ENQUIRER has learned.

The former Three’s Company beauty is telling pals she plans to undergo the process in February and intends to become the poster girl for the cutting-edge procedure.

"Suzanne is incredibly enthusiastic about the use of stem cells to beat aging," a family friend told The ENQUIRER. "She thinks stem cells are the new frontier and she’s determined to spread the word."

Suzanne, 63, is planning to get both a face- and breast-lift using the new technique, says the friend.

"She’s starting a new book on anti-aging techniques using stem cells, and she’s going to have her own procedures photographed to emphasize the ‘before’ and ‘after’ benefits.

"She’s already talked to Larry King about making an appearance on his show to promote the project."

The new technique takes stem cells from the fat of a patient’s own body and then distributes them to the face or other areas that are in need of rejuvenation.

Transplanting harvested cells back into the same body avoids allergic reactions and lasts longer than synthetic fillers, say experts.

Detroit-area plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn told The ENQUIRER that he agrees with Suzanne that the stem-cell face-lift is a promising innovation in plastic surgery.

"Stem-cell face-lifts work by liposuctioning fat from the patient, and separating the stem cells from the fat cells," he said.

"Because stem cells replicate, when they are injected into the cheeks and frown lines, they rejuvenate the older facial tissue.

"This is often done in combination with a traditional face-lift, but it can also be injected without performing surgery."
