TOE CATCH A THIEF

In a toe-tally zany "CSI"-type case, cops put toe and tow together to solve the case of a stolen forklift.

It all started when police found a pair of shoes and socks wedged beneath a stolen Towmotor forklift that was turned over on a road in Elizabethton, Tenn.

Around the same time, Claude White showed up at a local hospital claiming he'd been walking down the street when a hit-and-run driver ran over his feet and ripped off one of his toes.

Cops called for a tow truck to lift the Towmotor. Toe and behold, they found a toe inside one of the shoes – and promptly arrested White, 34, for theft "due to overwhelming evidence," according to a Carter County Sheriff's Department report.

White's toe could not be reattached.
